Cambodia’s tallest bridge, standing 90m high, opened temporarily from April 11–17 for Khmer New Year, allowing family vehicles and motorcycles daily from 6am to 6pm. Trucks must use detours, and stopping on the 538m-long, 10m-wide structure is prohibited for safety. Located on National Road 10 in Pursat province, the bridge—98% complete—features viewing platforms expanded by 2.5m due to public demand for scenic photos.
Minister Peng Ponea and CDC vice-president Sun Chanthol oversaw final preparations, noting the bridge will close post-April 17 to install signage and road markings before a permanent May opening. Chanthol urged visitors to avoid parking on the bridge, emphasizing traffic law compliance to prevent accidents during festivities.
The $126M National Road 10 project, launched in 2019, is slated for completion in June, enhancing connectivity in Pursat’s remote areas.
