RED ALERT ZONE
Never Click These ⚠️
Not everything that looks harmless online actually is.
Some links are designed to rush you, confuse you, or trigger curiosity and that’s exactly how people get trapped.
Here’s what belongs in the red alert zone👎
❌ 1️⃣ “Your Account Will Be Closed Today”
Urgency is a classic manipulation trick.
If a message pressures you to act immediately, pause.
Real companies don’t threaten — they notify.
❌ 2️⃣ Unexpected Prize or Reward Links
“You’ve won ₦500,000”
“Claim your gift now”
If you didn’t enter anything, you didn’t win anything.
❌ 3️⃣ Shortened or Strange Links
Links that look like:
• bit.ly/xxxx
• random letters and numbers
• misspelled brand names
You can’t see where they really lead — and that’s the danger.
❌ 4️⃣ Attachments You Didn’t Ask For
Invoices, delivery notices, photos, PDFs from unknown sources.
If you weren’t expecting a file, don’t open it.
❌ 5️⃣ “Verify Your Information” Messages
Messages asking you to confirm:
• login details
• payment info
• personal data
Legitimate services don’t ask for sensitive info through random messages.
❌ 6️⃣ Emotional Hooks
Messages designed to trigger fear, excitement, or panic:
• “Someone accessed your account”
• “Urgent security issue”
• “We detected suspicious activity”
Emotion clouds judgment. That’s intentional.
SMART RULE TO REMEMBER
If a link:
• rushes you
• scares you
• excites you
• feels slightly off
👉 Don’t click. Verify first.
Go directly to the official app or website instead.
Awareness beats regret.
Most online problems start with one careless click.
